I managed to get the same game freeze. This picture is how it ended up freezing.
This is the situation right before the crash. I shattered the enemy on the top right of me and I think it caused a chain reaction of a couple of elements (the enemy bomb going off, the rock getting broken and the flying enemy getting killed, the death shrine getting activated).
It happens any time I shatter the enemy, no matter where I'm positioned.
