It would be great if card payment could be a permanent option, instead of having it available only during certain periods.

Sadly that is not available at the moment. Itch recommends direct payment (especially for nsfw), also it's much more efficient for the final party since the payment doesn't travel thru many countries/banks resulting in less income.
