Sorry, it's probably a little too obtuse! You need to collect three of a certain kind of item before it will rain (the last item you collect should give you an idea of which object to interact with next...) After the rain, you can end the game by walking out of the front door and off the screen. There's different dialogue for interactive objects after it starts raining, so be sure to take another look around for the full experience!
