I get this error running jav-it 1.7.7 on linux:

# ./jav-it
./jav-it: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.32' not found (required by ./jav-it)
./jav-it: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by ./jav-it)

I have version 2.31-9ubuntu9.14 of libc6 installed. Am I missing some other dependency? Thanks.

Your version of Ubuntu is extremely old. For best compatibility, I recommend upgrading to Debian Bullseye or a more recent version of Ubuntu like 20.04 or 22.04. In a worst case scenario, you can use Docker to make a simulated environment to run this in the event your system OS is has libraries which are not compatible or able to be updated.

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS, which is supported until next year. To be fair there is only a year of support left, so I can try upgrading to 22.04, but it would be nice if it would work on supported LTS versions.

$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS \n \l

This is the version of libc6 I'm running: https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/libc6

$ dpkg -l libc6
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold

Thanks for responding.

Oh, you wrote `ubuntu9.14 ` so I assumed you were on a very old version or something. If you leave me your discord information, I'd be happy to DM you and see if i can help you figure this out.

I think I figured it out, even though I was missing some details for your account. I sent you a friend request.

I didn't get it. I appreciate the effort you're making, and sorry I don't understand the discord friend system well. I'll just re-up my patreon membership and join your channel. I was a member before, but I let it lapse since I'm not doing much place shifting these days. I'll reach out to you directly after I rejoin your discord channel.

No worries. Glad I was able to sort you out on Discord!
