WASTED POTENTIAL
Let me preface by saying that I used to love Huaka'i Po Run. I was a day 1 Kickstarter backer because I loved the idea of a Huaka'i Po running game. I wasn't very familiar with Saitok except knowing he made that awful game about Ailani fighting Holy King, but with big names like Guhlactic (Half-Life 2, Star Wares 2) working on the project I thought I was putting my hopes into the right place.
When Huaka'i Po Run came out, I admit I was skeptical as soon as I noticed the spyware (apparently vouched for by third parties wanting to flesh the Huaka'i Po franchise out) and that my favourite character was missing from the game despite appearing on some of the promotional art (I'm not talking about Blue Ailani). So, I installed the game, I got the high-score (fuck you Pongle), and I started to notice all these things that were in what I initially thought they were going for with Huaka'i Po Run weren't here. No Dark Emperor, no day/night cycle, no weazel-type item or enemy.
I'm just sick of being left in the dark on this. Huaka'i Po Run was going to be my game of the year, but I guess that'll have to be Elden Ring.
P.S: I'm pretty sure the menu song makes me nauseous, I listened to it while writing this review and now I'm sweating and my finger hurts.
