Lag Before Video Plays

I am using HereSphere 0.93 on a Quest 2.

When I navigate the folders or when I go to start a video over a SMB network share there is a lag of several seconds before I can see anything. I do not think it is a network issue on my side as when I tried using Pigasus VR the videos would start playing almost instantly (even the 8k ones!)

- FWIW I believe HereSphere to be much better than Pigasus which is now uninstalled as it keeps crashing.

Thank you for all the hard work you must be putting into developing this app.

What device are you using to host the SMB share? Windows PC, Linux device, NAS? Does the lag occur for every folder viewed and video played? Or does it occur just once in a while? Thanks.

in NAS, accessing time is long, almost 2 minutes but once accessed, it is smooth and quick

Can you try waiting about 30 seconds to a minute after launching HereSphere before you try accessing your SMB share? HereSphere does a startup network scan, so maybe that's interfering with the SMB access. Let me know if that helps, so I can verify that it's the startup scan that's causing the issue, or if it's something else.

Thank you. I am using a NAS (TrueNAS).

Waiting 15 seconds before browsing the network works for me :)

Is it possible to rename the favorites whose paths appear below the SMB Share on the top left-hand side of the menu? My folder path names don't fit across the area here.

BTW, I like the delete file/trash can feature - it's much easier to remove videos I don't want from within the player.

There currently isn't a way to rename the favorited SMB path display name. I'll see if I can add that to a future update, and I'll also look into a better way to handle the startup network scan, since that seems to be causing the issue.

I constantly get a delay on every folder open and initial opening of the video.  While playing high res videos it is fine so isn't a bandwidth or ping issue.  No delays through the same wireless connection connecting through other windows/macos clients.  I gave up a while ago and used http, but would be nice to have this working to use the multi video/autoplay feature again.

While reading online with other people's setups of clients I assume this might be related to the client waiting on broadcast packets, but as this is using a direct connection to the ip the broadcast packet will never exist.

Using docker samba.  https://github.com/ServerContainers/samba

Thought I mentioned previously, but this is working after an earlier update.  Thanks for your help.
