is it possible to get both down without getting L on the wall?

Yeah, there's two solutions, in on of them you have to push both box together, and in the other one you push one at a time.

i actually ended up creating this situation👇. (recreated it in photoshop just for reference) !Spoiler for a possible solution below!
After that it was pretty smooth sailing to the end. It was really satisfying trying to find a solution here. Thanks for the design and balancing!

Great catch! I've reproduced this solution here and it's indeed a clever approach, even simpler than the intended solution. However, it doesn't quite align with the design goal, so I'll need to find a way to prevent it.
