I've played for 3 to 4 hours now. I can say it's worth the purchase. It's a mostly idle game meaning very little clicking and most of the time you're just watching. But the life simulation visuals are very enjoyable to watch so I don't feel like I need a lot of things to "do" like with some other idlers to make me feel entertained. Prestiges increase the resolution of the sim so it looks nicer and can score more points. (and prestige points can be spent to boost upgrade base levels) The upgrades are worth buying, they make a noticeable impact on how the life sim fares. Worthwhile prestiges, worthwhile upgrades, and overall good at helping one pass the time if you're listening to podcasts or audiobooks etc.
