I don't want to jinx or sound like a beacon of false hope, but I do have hope for a fair amount of dogs in some countries/counties/states/etc. It seems like awareness and concern for these issues is only growing more and more. Things may even be implemented legally for animal humane rights.
It's the breeders who focus specifically on "show quality" dogs rather than simply pedigree that care the most about these deformities (like those who breed german shepherds for their sloped backs and is literally in some competitions for the "best sloped back".)
