Bruh why do these germans care so much about having the game on steam if they can just get it off itch? Steam really that necessary?

(+5)(-1)

As a german I can say no... its not necessary... don't know why people want the game that bad on steam. Maybe they preffer to just have a license instead of owning the game DRM free they bought. I really don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(+1)(-1)

me as a german i really dont get it... Steam sucks.

(-3)

Blame the USK and the country itself.

(+4)(-3)

Lots of people prefer to have all their games on one account/storefront/library. It has nothing to do with "these Germans", it's a pretty common sentiment among Steam users in general and there's nothing wrong with that.

(+4)(-4)

Yeah there is, stop being such a corpo slave to steam.

(+1)(-3)

This isn't about Steam. It's about owning all your games on one account. If itch.io is your main storefront, that's fair. Some use GOG, others use Steam etc.

(+1)(-1)

but who cares about weird brand loyalty

(+2)

literally just get the game here and add it to your steam library

(-2)

Not the same thing. It doesn't add a license to your account, so you still wouldn't own it on Steam.

(+1)(-1)

why does that matter tho? you still own the game and you can still press the little green button on steam to play the game, jesus

(-1)

And you never will, thankfully.

This is actually false. You could buy third-party keys for the game and activate it on Steam. But then the developer won't get any money from that purchase. Another way would be to ask someone from a different country to gift it to you. So yes, there are certainly ways but they're either not very convenient or morally questionable.

(-2)

Sucks for the Krauts then. Let them buy it here or get bent. Begging the dev for a key is beyond pathetic.

(+2)

im german too and i really don't get it. i'm already so happy i can the purchase the game atleast here still.

Retards over here also forget that Miro gets a waaay better sales cut from here (10% default) than he would if those Hinterweltler would buy it on Steam.

true

I can't see too many benefits to having it on Steam other than profile cosmetics / showcase purposes ...

... If you want to play with a controller (which I'd highly recommend) + customize the buttons for quick access to the Map, Olivia's Wheelchair, "Engarde" skill etc... You can still purchase the game from here then add the game to your Steam Library... then create your own custom controller layout or apply the preset one I uploaded to the community for everyone to use.
