No. I'm sorry if it wasn't clear: the MC is almost 27 and the possible relationship with Harus started 3 years ago. If you're concerned in the aspect of grooming, this was not the case. The dynamics between Harus and the MC will be explored, but it's important to note that nothing occurred until the MC was of age and was initiated under the MC's volition.
This is so good! I got hooked into it so bad that i kinda didn't sleep all night. I may have perhaps restarted to much... I can't wait for more chapters to come out! ;_; it's really one of the best text based ones I've played.
came back for a reread and the writing feels even better 💗 i can't wait for part 2! one thing i'm curious about is having chosen to prefer physical prowess to magic initially, i'd like to balance them out so they're pretty similar; will there be any choices later in the game that we get locked out of if we don't focus on one skill, either magic or physical prowess? will increasing them equally lock us out of the higher difficulty choices for both?

I don't mind spoilers myself but I just figured I'd mention it for anyone else reading my comment. It's related to the ROs though and IDK how else to ask. It's a bit important for my own reading experience.
QUESTION:
There are various supernatural races in this game, with different lifespans. Do I need to be concerned about any differences in longevity between the protagonist and their RO? I'd prefer to avoid a situation where my protagonist ends up inevitably dying of old age and the partner moves on to some other romance afterwards. Maybe the story doesn't even plan on addressing that - but thinking realistically, it seems like a pretty important thing to consider, between two people. And honestly, if I knew the RO was just going to move on like that, as they live for hundreds more years or whatever, it'd ruin the whole story for me. I'm still traumatized (okay, I'm being a little dramatic) from Spice and Wolf. Please give me the hard-hitting truth now before I go through hours and hours of wholesome romance only for it to end in (what I consider to be) tragedy.
I just greatly prefer romances where the characters stay together forever afterwards and there's no one else after that. So if lifespan considerations are relevant, it'll affect who I decide to romance.

So first (and this isn't directed at you), I'm not going to dive into the subject of AI art because when I shared my results a couple months ago, it sparked some drama, I suppose. Regardless, I understand the controversies surrounding it better now.
With that out of the way, I'm going to assume this is ChatGPT because the images of Lyth and Admos are near identical to the results I got lmao.
When I tried generating Admos and Lyth, it took me quite a few tries to get the AI to make them right. If you tell it they're basically elves with horns you should get results similar to how I pictured them. Before that, I kept getting images that seemed like a mashup of Avatar aliens and dragons with fancy mustaches.
I have some poorly drawn Admos images from a couple years ago ─ I might share them but his design changed some since then. I have ones of Lyth and Xiaowen as well but they are older and terrible (I'll be honest, I'm insecure with my art).
However, thinking of these drawings makes me remember the original version of the story ─ ohhh the nostalgia. It makes me want to go back and revisit my old ideas and see if I can make them into a new story.

I'm not gonna beat around the bush, this is one of the best IF's I've ever played. From setting to characters and writing everything sits right with me. In short, I love it!
I read a lot of stories in here, and I must say, this is one of the best. The worldbuilding is really good so far, you can see the amount of love and dedication to the proyect. All the characters so far are really charming on their own way (like, wasn't expecting Gabriel to be such a flirt and I absolutely love it). I really like the interactions, and I loved that se can read their thoughs after talking to the warden in situations like in the camp, and I love even more the interactions that the poly routes have (only played the Gabriel and van Leare, but assume the other ones will have similar moments like the one those two have at camp). Love the Warden as an MC, and if something happends to the raven I will riot. And way the plot is being set up is amazing, and really makes me want to read more. Take your time, you are doing amazing, but also can't wait for more.
This story is easily one of the best WIPS out there. I was immediately drawn in by the plot and writing, but especially by your characters. It is a rare IF that makes me want to romance more than one character (usually two at most), but I have to replay this so many times because I literally want them all! Well done!
This story is truely fantastic and I was delighted to hear of chapter 3 part 1's release. I discovered Within Your Eyes shortly after chapter 2 was released.
Leese Van Laere has my whole heart and I'm terrified of when our secrets are revealed to him. While I'm definitely going to do several playthroughs to see differen't choices, Leese and Gabriel's poly route is my 'canon' and I really like how the poly choices show a budding connection between the two, not just between them and the warden.
I simply can't wait for more, yet I hope you take your time to craft the story you want to tell. Books can take many years to write and I hope you don't hold yourself to a schedule that burns you out. Your story is worth however long it takes to make!
At this point, I don't think we are going to tell them anything. I'm pretty sure that they are going to find out on their own. A passage after finding Lea/Leese in the forest: "She(the warden) is starting to remind her(Lea/Leese) of *her*."

fantastic!! lyth/lyari is a brazen little imp draconian and i look forward to seeing how the warden handles their seemingly on-brand, shameless snooping in the future. also harus and the warden's endearingly fickle raven friend are very interesting :DD, and so are the demons skeletons hiding in the warden's closet! 👍 all in all, 10/10, would read ten times over again, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ x2 = 10 STARS
favorite character would have to be the basilisk that the warden could choose to slay over the other two monsters. 'basilisk' is just one of my favorite words. its etymology is irresistible. and THE mythological basilisk is one of my favorite creatures of myth, and so i could. not. help. myself
just kidding :DD my favorite character is probably lyth/lyari. but do know that i kill that basilisk every single time regardless of who the warden is whatever time around. i'm glad that you included it >:D
lastly, i HIGHLY enjoy the guilt meter, in particular the fact that it's the only meter on the warden's profile page, iirc. it's an interesting little feature that's distinctive to this IN, and i like to think about how its flux will affect the story moving forwards!! wonderful work :D
as a side note, i love the inclusion of an allosexual aromantic option when it comes to determining the warden's sexuality. other INs include it, but not all (understandably!), and so i'm personally glad that yours is among those INs who do :) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

i did notice some spelling and grammatical errors during various chapters that came up in the choices, as well as one during the actual story and a single instance where gabriel's gender (set to female) swapped to male. they were pretty rare and all very minor but ill do my best to go back through and report them on your google form!

Is there a lore reason why the Warden can't have red/ginger hair? Like if it is particular to a certain region or people that aren't in Lenia or something like that? I was making my second read-through character more like myself until I reached that point and went "Oh. It's not there."
It's not a huge deal but I'm curious. Burgundy Red just isn't the same. Very enjoyable and engaging read, by the way.
Cheers! The hair color rarely if ever comes up so it's really not a problem. My lazy solution would be to just call it Red and let people project whichever kind of red onto it. Unless you sometimes have descriptives tied to the colors, in which case it would get annoying for you.

In times like these, your ability come to the forefront. While it takes a heavy toll on you, your ability to inspire and lead others is your greatest asset. It's what helped you prevail against the basilisk and various other monsters when you couldn't see.

It is a rare IF that makes me want to romance more than one character (usually two at most), but I have to replay this so many times because I literally want them all! Well done!
This story is truely fantastic and I was delighted to hear of chapter 3 part 1's release. I discovered Within Your Eyes shortly after chapter 2 was released.
Leese Van Laere has my whole heart and I'm terrified of when our secrets are revealed to him. While I'm definitely going to do several playthroughs to see differen't choices, Leese and Gabriel's poly route is my 'canon' and I really like how the poly choices show a budding connection between the two, not just between them and the warden.
I simply can't wait for more, yet I hope you take your time to craft the story you want to tell. Books can take many years to write and I hope you don't hold yourself to a schedule that burns you out. Your story is worth however long it takes to make!

At this point, I don't think we are going to tell them anything. I'm pretty sure that they are going to find out on their own. A passage after finding Lea/Leese in the forest: "She(the warden) is starting to remind her(Lea/Leese) of *her*."

I'm enjoying this game a lot! I appreciate the detailed prose and emphasis on player agency. The story really pulls me in.
I was wondering, though, if there's a downloadable version available? I keep getting stuck, unable to click on menu options because the UI doesn't work well on my mobile device. Since this is a Twine game I was hoping it could be downloaded to run on JoiPlay.
I'm sorry you were having that issue! I'm having some trouble getting a download version to work as it wants to keep replacing the main one. There's probably something I'm missing (I'm very confused with itch.io, I'm so sorry), please bear with me!

fantastic!! lyth/lyari is a brazen little imp draconian and i look forward to seeing how the warden handles their seemingly on-brand, shameless snooping in the future. also harus and the warden's endearingly fickle raven friend are very interesting :DD, and so are the
demonsskeletons hiding in the warden's closet! 👍 all in all, 10/10, would read ten times over again, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ x2 = 10 STARSfavorite character would have to be the basilisk that the warden could choose to slay over the other two monsters. 'basilisk' is just one of my favorite words. its etymology is irresistible. and THE mythological basilisk is one of my favorite creatures of myth, and so i could. not. help. myself
just kidding :DD my favorite character is probably lyth/lyari. but do know that i kill that basilisk every single time regardless of who the warden is whatever time around. i'm glad that you included it >:D
lastly, i HIGHLY enjoy the guilt meter, in particular the fact that it's the only meter on the warden's profile page, iirc. it's an interesting little feature that's distinctive to this IN, and i like to think about how its flux will affect the story moving forwards!! wonderful work :D
as a side note, i love the inclusion of an allosexual aromantic option when it comes to determining the warden's sexuality. other INs include it, but not all (understandably!), and so i'm personally glad that yours is among those INs who do :) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!
this is the best game ive ever found on here omg 😭 the writing is masterful and the story is an absolute gem. i love absolutely everything about it!! the warden's trauma really tugged on my heartstrings and i adore all the characters especially lea 🥺💗 i need to protect her💔!!
i did notice some spelling and grammatical errors during various chapters that came up in the choices, as well as one during the actual story and a single instance where gabriel's gender (set to female) swapped to male. they were pretty rare and all very minor but ill do my best to go back through and report them on your google form!
also! can i ask when you're expecting to put out the next part/chapter, if you have a planned schedule or any idea how long it might take? no rush, and ill be here for it regardless! ive just come to the end of this and its so brilliant im begging

Is there a lore reason why the Warden can't have red/ginger hair? Like if it is particular to a certain region or people that aren't in Lenia or something like that?
I was making my second read-through character more like myself until I reached that point and went "Oh. It's not there."
It's not a huge deal but I'm curious. Burgundy Red just isn't the same.

Cheers! The hair color rarely if ever comes up so it's really not a problem.
My lazy solution would be to just call it Red and let people project whichever kind of red onto it. Unless you sometimes have descriptives tied to the colors, in which case it would get annoying for you.
I was honestly more curious to know if there was going to be a region full of gingers somewhere down the line or something! Or it be a special family's trait.
In times like these, your ability come to the forefront. While it takes a heavy toll on you, your ability to inspire and lead others is your greatest asset. It's what helped you prevail against the basilisk and various other monsters when you couldn't see.
Is this a bug? Charisma and teamwork are my lowest stats.
