I like interactive more than linear, BUT I hate hate hate missing out on content because of some step I never did and the chapter closes or time runs out!!! I like a Stardew Valley type where you can do interactions whenever you want in any order cause they just build up "hearts." Then if enough hearts are done, then the next time you go do X you unlock that content/event for that character. Almost nothing you "miss" or time it takes you to figure it out will cause you to miss any content, until you decide to pick one character to marry which is end game mostly anyway.
