100%. This would be pretty fun as some kind of 18+ Doodle God like alchemy game but it feels way too finicky to brew stuff in the demo

Based on what you have said "simpler, click-based interface" it is what makes this game unique from all of those like maybe 'boring' just clicking with a feeling of just being stuck in just text and a few clicks.

I don’t think that a point-and-click interface is boring. That said, there are other options, but they all involve simplifying things - such as 2D side scrolling, or a top down view.

Another overcomplication is to allow items to be thrown anywhere. That sounds like a good idea in theory but in practice it means that the player needs to aim to throw the items in the cauldron or the summoning circle.
