Pretty great game overall but I want to know for the different endings do you need to lose a certain fight, or save specific character or do something unexpected as I'm halfway and want to know if need to keep saves. I was gonna say about balancing but I've seen youre constantly updating it so I'm gonna keep coming here for the changes.

For the alternate ending, you need to finish two optional chapters (after 11 and 13), as well as either finishing the optional chapter after 16 or collecting an item in chapter 20 that spawns if you didn't go to that particular bonus chapter. The optional chapters are named "The Amber Swan", "The Crystal Swan", and "The Crimson Swan".
