Hello Lual Games,

Kickstarter backer here . . .  Thank you for releasing the game here on Itch in addition to that other game store.

I'm writing to let you know that I did have trouble getting the game started initially, but did figure out a "solution" that worked for me.  It might help others as well, but I leave that to you to decide.

My initial problem was that the "loading" screen stayed on "forever".  This is the screen that I mean (on my Google Drive):  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xGLBt1Fo8PxyuDUj9ijFQRIRxjZ6eIIQ/view?usp=shari...

That screen keeps moving (the bar moving from left to right) and the last line on that screen keeps changing, but the game never finishes loading, and very soon, the last line repeats the same statements over and over.  I left this screen "loading" for over 10 minutes before deciding that it was never going to finish loading.

The issue was that I installed the game by unzipping the game downloaded from here on Itch to a very embedded folder on my HDD.  The folder I installed the game to had a total of about 77 characters and was embedded to four subfolder levels like this:

F:\New Stuff 2022-10-05\Kickstarter\I Doesnt Exist\i-doesnt exist-win-release\

I solved the issue by copying the contents of the last above subfolder and all the lower subfolders to a shorter path like this:

F:\New Stuff 2022-10-05\Games\i-doesnt-exist-win-release\

(about 57 characters and only three subfolder levels)

Then when I ran the game, the loading screen as shown above displayed on screen for less than a second and the game immediately started.

So if any gamers are having trouble getting the game to "finish loading", the issue may be that the folder the game is installed into may be too long or have too many subfolders?

I hope this helps you troubleshoot with any gamers having this issue.

Thanks

It’s odd that this was a problem, considering Windows has had the ability to use file paths over 255 characters since Windows 8.1, I think, albeit with a manual tweak until Win10.
