I'm not sure. That sounds like some kind of bug. What kind of status effects do you have?
I only had the left orb and right orb status effect turned on since i thought the cause was due to the equippable items but it still happened anyway

I can try to look into it but I'm still not sure. Was there a certain enemy you were fighting before that happened?
I think it happened after i fought the giant werewolf but gave up
But for now ill just start a new game and see if it still happens
