grea concept it might be a little bit glitchy because my pc can't run it easly :( but i played so many games and had the same concept like you to save other underwater great game try to update or make the control more better and it could be good
edit :when the player enter the water try using a shader that make the color correction more blue and green it could be a good realistic and satisfying also
