I’ll try to answer to your questions:
I could not pick the patterns up […] unless they change from level to level???
Every colors have specific patterns that doesn’t change between levels.
I was also confused on the color choices, are the red and light pink supposed to have the same movement sets or different?
They’re both different. I agree that it’s difficult to tell them apart, and we would surely had drawn different gem shapes with more time.
Over all I really did not get the feeling of ‘loop’ from this game
It’s loosely coming from the concept of musical loops. Each levels ((musical) tracks) loops until you find the outlier.
but it was very pleasing graphically and sonically.
