Yes, if the controller is recognized as a joystick on your Android device there is a good chance that it will work with Freerider.

Generally speaking, Android game controllers aren't usually very precise though. They usually aren't quite precise enough to fly an Acro FPV racer with good control. However, it's mostly better than using touchscreen controls anyway. Best idea if you could find a controller to try to see if it suits you.

If you happen to have an old Xbox or Playstation controller laying around (and a USB OTG cable) that might work too.
