Hi drakhir and thanks for taking the time to reach out!

In recent days we have received similar reports from multiple sources. Fortunately, we're happy to report two things:

  • That this isn't a VoidBound specific issue, and in-fact a false positive detection by one specific AV only: Windows Defender and it's  mainly targeting RPG Maker engine that the game runs on.
  • That we've seen this happen before and are actually tracking the issue on Github currently.

To put your mind at ease, you too can check the following threads whereby you can follow the current status yourself:

  1. https://github.com/nwjs/nw.js/issues/8054
  2. https://github.com/TiddlyWiki/TiddlyDesktop/issues/280

TL;DR: Every now and then Windows Defender flips out and flags nw.exe(renamed to Game.exe) as a threat. This has never been found to be legitimate. Neither by the community, nor by us.

Just to be on the safe side, we ran the file through an online AV scan database not five days ago, and it came back with the following results:

As you can see, no detection whatsoever. In-fact, Microsoft- the entity that owns Windows Defender, cleared the file in that scan as well.
In short, it's most definitely a false positive and you have nothing to worry about.

In the end though, the call is yours, but hopefully this helps put your mind at ease.

Kind Regards,

Cursed-Atelier Team

Thanks for the response. I thought it may have been a false positive, but wanted to err on the side of caution. I'll keep an eye on this project for now and maybe give it a try at a later date.
