Wait... why do they have to wait for the water (in the shower) to heat up? Surely an Eletric Shower would be more efficient up there?

Well, electric stovetops still need time to heat up too, don't they? Electric showers doesn't mean immediate heat dissipation because the heat still has to travel through the water, which takes time. Water is a poor thermal conductor, after all.
