Are you playing the demo? Cause you're not suppose to be able to reach that part yet. It's suppose to end around the time you learn about brewing the Black Sugar potion.

Hm strange. Black Sugar should be the first potion that's available.
The reason why it's probably not working is because the demo should have ended already. There's stuff missing that is in the official version of the game. Thank you for reporting. I am going to have a closer look at it and see what might have caused it.
