I just played this game with my nephew and had a great time! This is also the first time I’ve played Peggle The level with air balloon was a bit difficult for both of us, but once we got the hang of it, it was very enjoyable!
We couldn’t get enough of it - “ah how can it be over in just a few levels” - and visually the backgrounds were quiet and fairytale beautiful, and these point were very cozy! My nephew found the bullet-time mechanic that I had not noticed.I noticed a faint square edge at the ball sprite, which could be improved to give a more subtle effect!
Thanks for sharing, it really motivated me to hear you enjoyed it with your nephew.
Glad to hear you found the game and levels enjoyable!
Another Peggle fan, huh? xD
Very pretty visuals, especially the level completion. I like the idea of managing dashes, but it was pretty hard to time them while also finding a strategy for where to go.
The win condition was also a little hard to figure out at first - I eventually realized that there was a target score, and that hitting a few pegs gave me more dashes - but I still don't know if the green pegs did anything special.
I also must admit that "instead of controlling the cannon" isn't quite true, since we also aim the first shot. Personally, I would've preferred if every level had a premade shot angle and after hitting the first peg, you could start dashing. Or something of that nature. That way, you'd stay true to what you said.
Great job nonetheless!
Haha yeah our initial plan was to have it so that the initial shot was from a canon with a pre-set direction, but we didn't have time to implement it. I agree that that would have made more sense with the "Reverse Roles" theme.
Also regarding the confusion of the goal and exactly how the dash system works, we didn't really have time to implement any "tutorial" or anything like that. I know its a bit confusing :P But the green pegs gives you 2 dashes, blue pegs gives 10 points, red pegs gives 50 points.
You also gain dashes for every 3rd peg you hit, regardless of color.
Thanks for all the feedback, we'll take it with us for our next game :)
