Check it out here!: https://biggloves.itch.io/game-boy-splash-in-unity

This is free to use for everyone participating in this game jam.

If you are using it in your game, please credit me as "Big Gloves" and send me the link. I'd love to see what you made!

I also made the splash for the Original Game Boy:

Awww this is so awesome. Will definitely try to use it! :D

Thanks! For those of you who are worried about the 4 color limit, I updated it to make it easier for you to set your own color scheme. How it works is there will be blocks of color moving quickly behind the background. Just select the different blocks in the canvas under "Color Ramp" and change the color. You can also change the color of the font and the background.

Very nice but I tried it and the text comes out looking blurry

For some reason the text looks okay when the game window is at 10:9 aspect ratio. To recreate it, can you tell me what your window size is?

I set it to 160x144, the size of a GB screen

like this

I tested it and it looks better at higher 10:9 ratio (320x288, 480x432, 640x576, etc.). 160x144 is the one where the text looks the worst

If you put the scale to 1x, this is how small 160x144 is.

This is 320x288. If you keep going up, it gets more and more clearer.

This is 480x432.

You can put the game window size at 160x144 but it's just too small to see and you're better off increasing it to at least 480x432, as long as you keep to the 160x144 resolution.

That's no good, it should render well at 1x and simply upscale and look consistent no matter what

edit: however that may be hard if you use the 3D text in unity, it really renders like shit from my experience

I updated the package. Let me know if the blurriness is fixed for you.

Hey! how do you make it so it can transtition between scenes? But really cool
