Fun game. I feel like the speed gained by the power up should just be the default move speed. Also I noticed that the big red apples subtract from your score which is part of the deception if I had to guess and not a bug =D The game is good and would be even gooder with some more juicy visual and sound effects on picking apple. Cool stuff. Well done.
EDIT: I just read your description of the limitation and yeah it turns out the slow move speed is becuase I died a lot lol
If you carefully notice, you can identify the big apple with the small ones. The big apples are rotten and thus reduces the score . I intentionally keep all the apples look almost similar with a bit difference to introduce deception. Actually there are for types of apples - true apple(scores) , balloon apple (you can not score), bomb apple (reduces life) and rotten apple(reduces score). I am glad you like it . I agree with you that it could be better with game juice which I could not add as I came up with the idea just the day before the jam submission. But now I am trying to improve the game and upload the edited version with in a week . 😊😊😊
