Very interesting game idea and the visuals work really work together (color choice, map/level design, gameplay). The several levels and different game options are really fun and I really like the variety in being able to play different level types in one game. The UI is clear and the game mechanics and timings really add to the game feel. For possible revisions, you could implement some more strict game ideas from chess and maybe add more cool powerups/collectibles and abilities.
