iPad compatibility questions?

Hello! I am interested in using decker to make e-zines. I do not have very much experience with open-source software, and I’m currently having issues trying to write text while working off of my iPad. I’m able to select ‘edit’ on the text box widget I’ve placed, but no keyboard appears on my iPad screen for me to then type with. I do not currently have a keyboard for my iPad. I have been trying to use Decker in browser (safari) because I’m also having issues getting the app to launch. Is there something I’m missing here, or is Decker just meant to be run off a desktop computer? Thanks in advance, sorry if these are silly questions!

I’m a jackass I just realized that iPadOS is not the same as macOS. Bummer! If anyone knows a workaround lemme know.

Decker is mainly intended for desktop computers. Since Decker is distributed "unsigned" outside an "App store", it may be necessary to make an exception to security settings to run the native application.

I have plans to make improvements in the future which will provide soft-keyboard support for touch devices, but at present a physical keyboard is necessary for some functionality. Sorry for the inconvenience.

no worries! Thank you for your response. FWIW Decker seems to run fine on iPadOS outside of soft keyboard function. Been looking for an excuse to buy a keyboard anyway! 😂

A followup: v1.19 includes a soft-keyboard mode and several other small UI adaptations on devices which produce touch input events, which makes all of Decker's functionality available on keyboard-less devices like tablets.
