Until they update the mod, go to steam://open/console and paste in "download_depot 488860 488861 4365240420414865589"

you're pretty much just downloading the game a second time at a different version

after it's done, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content and the folder should be there

does it remove your progress from the original version

or does it keep the progress

A lotta games (such as MADNESS) use a method where they put your game files outside the game in this big game files folder with all sorts of saves from all sorts of games so if you delete the game, the save file will still just hang out on your system unless you go there and delete it yourself.

so your saying it saves but it you can remove the saves manually by going to the save data and deleting it?

yes. your saves will show up in any version. even if it isn't the updated one.
