Don't sell yourself short, I think the redraw is pretty! I love seeing people's own styles or interpretations on the characters that I've made. That and your art style is adorable and I enjoy seeing them! (I checked out your tumblr earlier, the sleeping Ichigo is just way too cute!! 😭)

Learning how to make a game can be frustrating at times, especially for people who don't normally code (like me lol). I mostly only copy paste codes, but even that can be confusing too sometimes. You can try renpy if you're looking to making your own visual novel. It can be confusing when you first use it, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to make a simple VN in no time.

And please don't feel bad for rambling! I love reading/listening to people's ramblings LMAO I'm just happy that you're enjoying yourself!

Oh yeah, I've seen the drawing of Yuki and the other Ichigo doodles, they're adorable!! Also, Yuki seems to just be an age younger than Aimi. All of the characters are 17 (with the exception of Yuzuki, he's 18 because he's had his birthday early at January LMAO). I don't have tumblr, but I'll periodically check your tumblr because the little doodles are honest to god way too cute HAHA

Honestly, feel free to just ramble about stuff to me! I don't mind listenting at all :)

OK SO I KINDA have an idea for my game!! it's called "Pumpkin Patch" for now and I have two whole characters [out of like. six. TvT] written out--Kaede and an unnamed guy

Ooh, the game sounds interesting! I'm only fine with spoilers only if you don't mind giving them. I can understand the feeling of wanting to keep your projects a secret.

You can ask me about coding/scripting, I'll try my best to answer or help you look for the solution (but I haven't touched renpy in a while, so I might have lost all my knowledge already LMAOAO)

Oh my god what that sounds chaotic asf, the SV characters would be freaked out by that for sure LMAOO

I don't mind~ I'm just asking because some people HATE spoilers xD--which is why I'm always careful
so pls don't take this as an offense BUT I'm partially basing Pumpkin Patch offa Sweetest Valentine TvT
I have this bad habit if I really like something I tend to base some of my own work offa it [which is why I try not to read too much fanfiction that gives me ideas TvT]
I still don't have a plot yet but I have exactly three characters in my head--one is Yuki, she has the same name [including the last name, Miyamoto] as my Sweetest Valentine OC but looks completely different-she's a self-insert for now since I'm working her personality out, and the MC. I'm considering making her slightly sassier and cockier than myself [imagine Mitsuba from TBHK just watered-down a bit]

The next guy is Kaede, the childhood friend of the MC that's slightly similar to Ichigo but looks more like Haruto. He's a yandere too, but keeps those like..voodoo dolls? Of the other love interests and they're all torn apart. The only one that isn't torn apart is the doll of Yuki's [with her real hair]
spoilers for a possible ending I'm thinking of: Yuki'll remember the times Kaede offered to clean her brush off to 'help her out', but all those loose strands in the brush went into the doll. He also keeps a bottle of Yuki's perfume for the doll specifically, dresses the doll up, and pretends to go on "dates" with her by using his doll. He also has a bunch of sets like a wedding reception, the park, etc to bring the dolls into. [by this point he just sounds insane TvT]

The third guy is unnamed, but one of those shy types who hate themselves-he stutters a lot and is fairly smart. [I'm trying to tread the thin line between that one guy from Boyfriends and Muku from A3, 'cause I wanna include both their traits, but not enough that it seems...weird TvT] he's also secretly a pop star named "Rxbbit" [from the recent book I read called Rabbits by Terry Miles, would recommend the book 100%] because he has a beautiful singing voice and he doesn't stutter when he sings.
Unfortunately, I still don't have much of a plot except MAYBE Kaede trying to kick Yuki awake to go to a Halloween event [it's the dialogue I'm coding rn as a test to see how everything works]

I CAN!? :eyes: [ignore how I'm tryna use Discord emojis here ;-; the main three things I was wondering was how you coded the Home Screen, the text borders, and if I could use a font generator to generate some font, kinda like in Yuzuki's Route lol
and dwww when I'm finished with this game I'm sitting back, relaxing, and seeing if I get any profits from this game [which is a small bonus LMAO]

HEHE YES! the whole point of it is just to chase Ichigo and Haruto in one of those two-person horse costumes LMAAAAAO just seeing a wonky horse running along the road chasing a couple of boys xD

Ooh, dw I don't take offense to that, in fact I'm glad my work could inspire you to create too!

The plot sounds interesting already, Kaede seems like an absolutely insane person and I'm looking forward to see his creepiness in action LMAO. Grabbing the MC's comb just to steal her strands of hair is just peak yandere behavior and I love it, the dolls too.

This other guy also seems really cute, I enjoy characters with double lives a lot, and he seems mostly like a cinnamon roll (boy I'm gonna jinx it aren't I, he's going to turn batshit or something LMAOAO)

As for the home screen, honestly I just used the default ones and changed the position and font. This particular video might help you with that: https://youtu.be/_zq3V28qp2w (any of Zeil's tutorials are a massive help tho, go check her channel out and see if there's any other tutorial there that might help you)

Text border is... I'm assuming the dialogue box for the game? You can find the dialogue box file in the GUI folder (I think) and just change that file directly into whatever you want. Here's another video that could possibly help you with it: https://youtu.be/AHuIHrvBBII

And you can absolutely use font generator, yeah! I just typed the original text in like those zalgo font generator, then copy and pasted the result to the script. Put a {nw} tag afterwards to have it seem like it abruptly stopped, then boom. It works just fine.

the funny thing is HE LOOKS PERFECTLY NORMAL--okay not perfectly normal...he kinda looks emo--just using brown colors instead of black...but he SEEMS normal--likes reading and drawing, decent grades...

Like he has something under there--like a scar or something from a fight with one of Yuki's ex's that he wants to hide so Yuki wouldn't worry...

Cocky, rude, sassy, no respect for elders, etc etc
He's also based off a lime because of cooking companions--since there's these things called the Chompettes which is basically just possessed food XD

Like how yesterday was one of my favorite characters' [Sousuke Mitsuba from TBHK] "birthday" [as in, his name can be read as 3/28 so it's just called his bday] so I ended up hosting a collab art thing and I'm still looking for people to fill in the empty spaces because...there's a LOT of them LMAO

Honesty though, I can see it. For me, the typical Haruto either has brown hair or black hair. The majority of Harutos I see in fiction are mostly like that LMAO, or maybe I need to watch/read more stuff.

He could turn any minute, saying it like he's going to turn into a zombie or something LMAOO 😭

And as for your questions: A) I just do, I guess?? I can't really explain it well. Most of the time, I usually have a character appearance in mind, then I draw them and come up with their story on the go. Sometimes, it's the other way around, I have a story in mind, and then I create the characters in a way that can enhance the plot or is fitting to the story. For most of my VN developments, I use the latter method, because I feel like the characters has to serve a purpose in the story (like I wouldn't add any other main characters in a story if all they do is just exist and does not progress the story, that sort of thing. The main cast has to add something to the table.). Usually, I use the appearance first -> story later method for my other singular OCs that I make for fun or the OCs I use to roleplay.

B) And femboys? I like em, yeah. They're very pretty. But I especially like it when the character looks meek/cute/feminine and ends up being cunning and smart asf (Now you know why I created Ichigo, that type of characters is just so much fun )

I'm glad that I could help you both with your project and your mood! But I'm not really famous or anything. I'm just any other person who writes silly stuff and publish them on the internet LMAO
