If I am honest, this is not my first "game", but it is my first game jam submission. I know many participants in this jam were making probably their first or close to first games.
I've made other games, prototypes, etc but never submitted anything to a jam. I saw the theme and was browsing the itch assets and saw the mini world sprites and thought it was cool how when zoomed out the sprites looked like a whole city so I wanted to make a game where the player could grow a big city out from the center. I just didn't have time to make it an actual game. I spent all the time making the tile placement and then the tile spawning from card system. Maybe I will expand in the future, but currently going to try to do another jam.
