The quest is bugged and doesnt work currently. There is no storyline to progress through. Its more of a sandbox survival game with some optional quests (in the future) to explain the world and help guide the direction. For now the single quest is only a proof of concept (that broke between 0.7 and 0.8).
Also it sounds like you havent installed the patch, it fixes the issues with gray box NPC's. Defeat sex needs to be enabled and you need to have enough grit points for the specific enemy.
