Agreed. I believe there's a clear difference between hating and critiquing something, hating is when only the negatives are mentioned and the person doesn't give any advice or a way the subject they're hating on could be improved and critiquing is when both the positives and negatives are mentioned and the person also talks on how the subject they're talking about could be improved.
This thing about "if you don't like it don't do it/consume it" is often used by people who probably don't really know what they're talking about and just blindly defend everything that they like without ever questioning it, though I still don't understand how so many people don't see this when it's so obvious to me, I guess there'll always be questions that can't be answered.
