Ameican English is weird

I have hurt every muscle in my brain, and lost nearly all my brain cells trying to understand the absolute stupidity of American English. Like, you could give me a perfectly grammatically correct sentence and ask me to fix the grammatical error LIKE THERE IS ONE, what in American English makes this grammatically incorrect? What could you possibly have added to make a simple sentence like, idk, "I like pizza." Grammatically incorrect? Like, obviously, that's exaggerated, but you get what I'm saying right? I don't understand. How? Why? When? What? Why? It's bad enough you turned Horseriding into "Horseback riding" like you didn't know how to ride a horse, but noooo, you also have to put grammatical errors where there are none.

I agree with this

No, no, I really just...

Why is it that when "and" is there to end a list, the Americans put a comma before it?

It just doesn't make a lick of sense.

oh was it too difficult to just not put a comma there? "Oh no, we made a rule that 'and' must always have a comma before it, and we don't know what exceptions are so we're just gonna put one there cause we're so big brain and smart, and we think that it makes sense to put it there."

Commas are meant to separate things, when making a list, the "and" is put there to group those two things together not separate them so it DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

no, explain to me, give me one good reason to put a comma before the "and" at the end of a list.

It CAN'T be just to make it easier to write and remember or whatever because it's really NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO JUST NOT PUT A COMMA THERE, IT'S NOT HARD TO REMEMBER!

I might actually go insane, I'm done, I'm done. I give up. I'll just write in British English and my teachers can suck it.

YOU'RE SO RIGHT USER NIGHTCRAWLER

I genuinely don't care about trying to know American English anymore. My exam is tomorrow, and I'm writing in British English wether they like it or not. I'll probably lose marks for "grammatical errors", but yk what, who cares anymore.
