I remember hating Luka with a passion. (I think I was 10, also this explanation might not be right cause I don't fully remember everything cause i dont keep up with it as i should but anyways) So yeah I hated Luka, and it was the end if a season. And Adrien was w Kagami (i don't remember if that's her name or not so srry) and I was a mixture of sad/mad bc Marinette got w Luka and they walked off together and the season ended. (I think that was that last season at the time and btw i REALLY wanted Mari and Adrien to get together) 10 yo me was SHOOK. I literally yelled "THATS IT!?!" But yeah I don't hate Luka now but I still ship Adrien and Mari. :) I wrote this horribly but ok 👍
yes her name is Kagami and yah Mari gets with Luka and Adrien with Kagami but then everyone breaks up and the civilian love square is over.
Thing is, when Mari breaks up with Luka she doesn't break up with him cause she wants to or she doesn't love him, she breaks up with him cause she has to cause she can't tell him she's Ladybug, yet the show desperately tries to convince you that this is not the case cause they're stupid and can't write love properly- also they make it seem like Luka and Mari is just puppy love on Mari's end and that she doesn't feel actual proper feelings for him but completely ignoring the fact that Mari doesn't actually like Adrien either cause this isn't love it's obsession and insanity. Maybe it started as a genuine interest in Adrien but she clearly at some point stopped loving Adrien and started obsessing over him. She has to like Adrien cause that's just how it is, she's so deep in she can't even realize she doesn't like him anymore she's just like the fangirls that obsess over him. This definitely was not the intention but because they're so shit at writing what genuine attraction is like it seems like that is the situation. Her love for Luka was puppy love but her love for Adrien is just obsession. At least with Luka it could've gone deeper than puppy love as their relationship went on but with Adrien it just doesn't feel right to ship someone with their obsessed stalker. But that's just my opinion.
