There's a hidden yellow button behind the toolbar (map / notepad / book / etc...) which allows you to talk to him... Apologies, this would be fixed in the next patch.
any chances to fix it myself? maybe change settings etc?
It has been fixed in the latest patch, download the newer version (_1_1)
