Can you remove the wall you hit when you unlock a and g? The best solution I can think of is to add a few upgrades in the extra update upgrades that aren't as powerful but only cost around 5k updates. You would only need to make it powerful enough to reduce productivity reduction by enough to get updates flowing faster.
