I liked the new build. The log print death was actually kind of interesting. With a few slight overprints with tiny offset changes and a way to print horizontally paired with a motion blur you could create a cool glitch text effect to tell the player they died. The monster horde at the beginning was a really good way to throw the player into the thick of it. It was probably way too much to ask for for the scope of the game jam but an graphical effect or health bar to show enemies take damage would be good. I tried to take on the big dude for a while and wasn't sure if my hits were doing much. The floating brains were evoking a lot nostalgia for me for doom-era fps's.
