From what I see of the preview for the images, personally not a fan. Real life pictures detract from the fantasy, and when it's just what look like stock photos anyways I'd rather leave it up to the imagination.
For the pregnancy advancement, if that is occurring with cross-species then I would suggest the end outcome be different to represent that, a "chimera egg" as it were.
As for the human pregnancy I wouldn't see egg laying as being unreasonable as the protagonist is already some warped experiment. Since her body is already modified to become pregnant from any creature her childbearing being standardized for all possible fathers wouldn't be a big upset. As for what to do with the eggs... I'd establish an affiliate of the mad scientist who has a deal to buy them to sell to couples with fertility issues. After all faking a pregnancy would be so much easier if you're just waiting for an egg to hatch.
