I Bought a Logitech F710 Gamebad, to Use with FPV Freerider, and I have a Question regarding the "D" / "X" Switch

Hi all

I purchased FPV Freerider yesterday,
and since I didn't have any controller, I looked at the list of Supported Controllers for FPV Freerider, and bought the Logitech F710 Gamebad.
The Logitech F710 gamepad has a small switch on the back, to choose between 2 communication modes: "D" and "X".
From what I understand, "D" is the older type, and "X" is the newer.

My question:
For FPV Freerider, which one of these 2 modes should I use?
In case both work, is there a reason to prefer 1 over the other?
(in 1 video on Youtube, a person said that in many games "X" simply works,
and "D" works but requires mapping/setting each the keys, which takes extra work..
is that relevant here in FPV Freerider too, when choosing "D"?)

Thank you

Hi,

The X/D switch switches between different input mode for Windows - Xinput and Directinput.

I think it is generally recommended to set it to the "X" position, since that is the newer standard.

My recommendation would be to try that, and if it for some reason doesn't work as expected - try the other mode.

Keep an eye on the little circles as you go through the Calibrate Controller procedure in Freerider. You should be able to move some of the little circles smoothly up and down using the analog sticks.

There is more general information in the user manual.

I put it on "X",
and indeed it works perfect.

Thank you very much
