That’s not so much of a “fix” but rather “rewrite most of the application, possibly after spending dozens of hours to implement multiple color-font formats” (support chart is a bit of a disaster)
The underlying font generator library has some support for colored fonts (SVG TTF), but this isn’t nearly enough - e.g. the colors won’t show in Chromium-based browsers on Windows.

to be fair i really didn't check before i made it, and i should have
i did find another program that seems to be capable but it requires defunct software, so ill need a bit a digging around to get that working.
by the way though i love this program, i use it all the time, really appreciate the work put into it
