Please help me understand how you are "taking a break from developing this game" and haven't put out an update in a long time now and now have changed it to costing money? >_>?

I understand your irritation, and I will post a dev update soon. The question behind this change for me is just as simple as it is important to me: Could I be able to make a living out of this? Can I transform my hobby to my occupation? For this, I need income. So the question is: Will people be willing to pay for the game?
If not, I will just set it back to zero again, but it also will take a lot longer for any update to be released. Because obviously it makes a big difference if I can work full-time on it, or just in my spare time.
That's the point. If I have the time, I would LOVE to continue on BtC! Besides, only because there are no updates in sight does not mean, I stopped working on BtC altogether. Yes, I prioritize (B)Engel, but I am also working on the storyline for BtC as well. And as a Patreon, you still have access to the Beta version, which is still free for all Patreon (and the most advanced version of the game anyway rn).
