A pitching effect with a random modifier to the jump sound would have served you much better than the two random noises alone. 

No music leaves the whole thing feeling very barren.

Unfortunately when you know it's one of THOSE kinds of games, it's less unexpected and more expected at that point.

Would also have benefited from more level variance than a single flat design.

Very cute toast though.

my friend did make music but but the program (bosca ceol) couldn't convert it to a .wav file

What format was it in? There's a lot of decent conversion tools. It's often best to work with .ogg for space efficiency I think.
