I loved the graphics and sound. Very nice - especially if you built all the assets from scratch. The controls were a bit wierd, but I got used to it. I didn't quite get the game mechanic, though. What was I supposed to do? I tried running around exploring to the sides and found som blue souls (seemingly in random locations?), but then I died. I tried just walking forward slowly. That way I got much further, but it was not so much fun, and I didn't find any souls, so I died anyway. When I died I had to rewalk the whoooole way, just with a bit different path. In the end, I gave up. Perhaps I missed something? Otherwise, my suggestions would be:

  1. Add some kind of clues or ways to figure out where you should go.
  2. Add some kind of saving points.

Right now, I didn't feel I have any agency or way to improve, except perhaps slowly trail and error. With all that said, the mood, environment and sound design are among the best I've seen yet in this game! Good work!

We understand what you're trying to say. First of all thank you for playing.
Not all of the assets, but like 90% of them are made from scratch, especially the modeling.
About the game mechanic, or what you're supposed to do... You're supposed to find an exit on the map, it will present itself well, so you will definitely know that's the end. I agree about the clues, but we just thought it would be too easy, or to say, the game just wouldn't last long enough. Also we gave some thoughts about checkpoints, also seemed unnecessary, although now when you as a player from outside our development circle point it out, it makes sense.

All in all, thank you for a nice and honest review. Every critique is always welcome. Look forward to playing your game. We appreciate you playing, and will take your tips into consideration.
Thank you very much kind developer! :)

After reading your reply  (and some commets talking about the fantastic ending) I tried a few more times. This time I figured out I can bring the blue souls with me to use only when needed. I walked all the way along both sides, and also into a "cave" where thunderclaps started to sound, but I still never managed to find the end :( I just kept hitting dead ends :P Anyway, it truely is beautiful and with a nice mood.
