Ironic realistic theme. The grim reaper is depressed by his everyday job. He decides to have some fun. We can add a "News" window after each level that will show the consequences of the player's action: massive killings, cafe poisoning, terrorist attacks,
Classic fantasy theme. It's a full-scale war in the Forest Lands. The grim reaper proposes to make a bet with God. If God saves more dwarves, elves, and humans' lives, then God will win. If Death kills more, the grim reaper will win.
Dystopian theme. It's 2052. The world is about to collapse. People enter the metaverse, the climate changes, and flora and fauna are dying. The grim reaper will be doing his job in the apocalypse that humanity started themselves. This plot will justify neon and sci-fi visual design.
