I don't get how I'm supposed to revive the horse.
Also in the darkness is completely busted, this quest will not work. I have talked to every single NPC and all the game gives me is "ask the villagers about the girl." There's no one I can ask. I've literally pixel hunted painsteakingly to see if there's an area I can't find.
