getting to this point has met with me so many weird and dumb nonsensical roadblocks that has served to slow me down considerably.

But here's the end of my first session, 4.5h in (I know, it's.. been a really dumb time with my technology)

Video recorded in a McDonald's. Don't mind the background.

Last nights progress, worked mostly on the basic building blocks of the level

Jam Host

Add some high tension music to that and I'm already in the mood. :P Looks very promising.

I'm pretty excited to share the music my brother made for this entry :)

In this build, you can actually play it.

It uses Unity's new input system, so theoretically it can be played with a gamepad as well, I just havent tested it out yet

I got my MGS1 style "peek" feature in today too (also in this one, OBS captured the background track)

Jam Host

That is just awesome! >:O

Got the animation controller scripted with a bad walk cycle that for _some_ reason, my 3d suite wouldn't let me fix

Say hi to our first NPC

Jam Host (1 edit) (+1)

I'm guessing the NPCs vision will be just as limited the (genetically enhanced) vision of the soldiers in MGS1. :P

That is correct, and my "story excuse" unlike in MGS1, is that these guys are always looking at their phone, so their peripherals are "limited" ;)

Progress Report:

1. We have enemies, fully animated, with working cones of vision
2. Using raycasting to determine if you're within the line of sight once inside the enemy field of vision
3. Patrolling enemies
4. Chase mode during discovery alert
5. Once alert mode clears, everyone navigates back to their original routes
6. Can be re-discovered and internal timer restarts

Genuinely unimpressed with a bug that prevents the game over stuff from triggering.... a bug only present in the official build (works fine within the editor)

I have a busy afternoon ahead of me..

Pretty stoked to have this thing launched somewhat!
