We appreciate your feedback and, of course, we'll try to work harder in our UI design and menus.
We've recieved the pawn icon issue in some other comments, and we apologize about not mentioning its objective in our "how to play" section. It was intented to mean your progress in the game, changing from pawn until king all along the game.
