It seems the characters are still there, taking up the rooms, including my own character's room. 2 sheep in the blank rooms, a sheep and the fox in My room. Is there a way to fix this?

You can download my savefile
You can also pass me your savefile through pastebin if you want me to restore it located at C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\HoleDweller
And you can restore it yourself (make sure you backup your file if you do this) by opening the file and searching for "Oriana" the name should be located underneath a "block of data" named [CHAR_X] (x being a number not actually x) select the oriana blocks including the [CHAR_X] parts and delete all of them
Then search for NUMBER_OF_CHARACTERS and make that equal to the number of characters you would have without any of the sheep
