Idk how difficult it would be to implement but a mobile version of this would be amazing! I tried running it using the web version but you hit a block at the first step of character customization when inputting your name it doesn't allow the keyboard to appear over the interface.

Ohh, sorry about that. Sadly I don't have a phone to develop and test a mobile version with. Project is open source, maybe someone else can try compiling it for android.
Godot has an experimental virtual keyboard support for web. I enabled it just now, you can try to see if it works for you here: https://alexofp.github.io/BDCC/ (this is latest dev version)
It might make you type the name blindly because the keyboard will probably cover it
