Competitors showing up after turning them off

I was playing the game with competitors turned off, but out of nowhere I got an event about the Inlet 16i 1616. I then played for a little while longer and other processors also started getting released. It was like the campaign just started in 1982 and continued on normally. I did encounter this issue before, but I thought it was fixed (when I played on the same version in the same browser but with infinite money and me releasing only one CPU in 2009 no competitors appeared). I'm playing on Firefox (version 96.0.3) by the way.

Hi,

Thanks, that's a bug! I figured out how to reproduce it, although I may remove the option to play without competitors completely in the next update. I wish to add benefits for achieving industry milestones, and playing without competition would make it quite unfair.

That's good to know, however some milestones are extremely difficult to achieve, namely the 1GHz Mark in the 'Hardware Tycoon' campaign (I'm pretty sure the only way to achieve it is to spam out CPUs to get CPU level up). It would be great if it was made a little easier (maybe by delaying the release date of the Inlet Tetrum 7 by one month).

That's true, though I can say that it used to be even worse...

All milestones are possible to achieve, but some of them require you to focus all resources in order to stand a chance, so it's a thin balance.
I will tweak competitors' release dates in 0.3 as it will allow more flexibility, and it's not like the bonuses from industry milestones will be life-changing either way.

Okay, thanks!

Hi,

I've encountered another bug that's somewhat similar to this one. If you pick the Alternative campaign and turn the competitors off, the game merges both campaigns for some reason. The CPUs are from the Default campaign, but the companies are from the Alternative campaign (Inlet becomes Incel, Morotola becomes Okina, IAM becomes Twinkle etc.). However, because the Alternative campaign has less companies than the Default campaign, some companies (from what I know Element, Sekkusu and IMD) are in a weird state of somewhat existing. Their CPUs still show up in the news, but the company "releasing" them is called 0, in the Market tab they also show up, but their part of the pie chart is broken, but in the Companies tab they don't exist.

Here are some screenshots (please ignore my Sony-tier product naming):
